Kickstarter Campaign for Linear Shift, Part 2

It looks like I am at it again. I just launched a new Kickstarter Campaign for Linear Shift, Part 2.  I was hoping not to do so, as I wanted to fund everything for Part 2 from sales of Part 1.  To date, I have sold a total of 75 copies, and at .35 cents each, I am just over $26 in royalties.  Hopefully, with Part 2 coming out, overall sales will increase. Without further delay, here’s the campaign.  If anything, click over to see … Read more

Disgruntled Over craigslist ad

I’ve been in the field of architecture for many many years. I have owned my own firm, and I have worked as an employee.  There are vast differences in each respect.  As an employee, the employer pays you a wage, and then compensates you with benefits and takes care of paying taxes. Naturally, your hourly rate is adjusted downward because of those extras that the employer does.  If you work contract, the worker is responsible for all of those, and then some.  Suppose the contract … Read more

Nano Spotlight Interview

I gave an interview a few weeks ago regarding my participation in NaNoWriMo over the years.  It was quite fun, and it just posted on Chris Kelworth’s blog.  Be sure to check it out HERE! *** In other news, I am currently writing the final scene for Linear Shift, Part 2.  It will be done this afternoon!  After that, I will continue on with preliminary editing, which I have six scenes complete. I need to get the remaining ten scenes wrapped and compiled to send … Read more

NaNoWriMo 2013

On the eve of Nanowrimo, and I have to admit I am in for some tough challenges in November.  First off, I am in the home stretch of writing Part 2 to Linear Shift.  It looks like I will be writing on the first draft through the weekend, and finishing up some revisions through Thursday.  Once it’s off to the editor, I will be free of it until December 1st.  But wait! I mat be free from Part 2 on Thursday, but on Friday morning, the family is on … Read more

Linear Shift Stuff

I’ve been writing just about every day on Linear Shift, Part 2, and I am through 9 of the 17 planned scenes for the book.  I have had a running word count target of 23,000 words, but updated it to 26,000 words a scene or two into the process.  Well, I am here to update it again!  After writing through the half way point of scene, I am now estimating the target count to come in around 32,000 words.  And honestly, I think I will … Read more

Something to Read on the Ride: A Charity Anthology

Many many moons ago, I wrote a short story.  That was the beginning of my obsession with writing. The time saw winter of 1998, and my daughter was about a year and a half.  She was the inspiration behind my short story called Amy.  I wrote the 1,600 word piece on an afternoon, and felt pretty proud.  It wasn’t because I felt the story was top shelf stuff.  Heck no, it was my first real story that I completed.  Until then, I had started many … Read more

Tradecraft, Espionage Training, and Snippet from Scene 4

Last night, I was settled into my study to get a scene written for Part 2 of Linear Shift. I am so far behind on the writing, it’s not even funny. Anyway, the writing ‘du jure’ last night was for a scene where Peter has to sneak out to find Benny, who has been MIA since the end of Part 1. He has to sneak out, because he is now being watched by a security team to ensure his silence about the top secret mission. … Read more
